Vinho Verde

'Vinho Verde' or 'Green Wine' is produced in only one of the 16 D.O.C. wine regions in Portugal. D.O.C. Vinho Verde is the largest wine region in Portugal. It is located along the Atlantic coast in northern Portugal between Oporto and the Mino River, which separates Portugal from the Galicia region of Spain. Nearly all of the wines produced in this region are white wines, which compliment the cuisine in Portugal where the per capita seafood consumption is among the highest in Europe.
