Finca Son Bordils

Finca Son Bordils was founded in 1433, by Joan Bordils i Pont in Inca, Mallorca. According to historic documents, the Son Bordils lands were dedicated to vineyard as early as 1360. During the Forana Revolt of 1450-1452, Finca Son Bordils was sacked and approximately 50,000 liters of wine were seized.

Since that time, the property has changed hands many times, a majority of the time functioning as a productive vineyard. Pedro and Ramon Coll purchased the estate in 1991 and choose to restore the historic name of Finca Son Bordils.

The Coll brothers replanted the vineyards with indigenous varietals; Callet, Mantonegro, Prensal, and foreign varietals; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Chardonnay and Muscat. The resulting wine production is elegant and very unique. The Negre is their flagship wine, a coupage expressing the best wine the vineyard has to offer in that vintage.
